Dhara's Bachlorette Party!

On Friday, March 5th, I drove up to Chicago to see my good friend (and one of my bridesmaids) Dhara! She is getting married on May 30th and I am SO excited! Since Dhara is a medical student her weekend slots were limited so the first weekend in March was it!

I worked with two of her close friends to help plan the party. It started with Brunch Saturday morning and ended with Brunch on Sunday morning. I left Chicago around 3 P.M. Sunday afternoon. It was exhausting but it was a ton of fun!!!

I was in charge of the favors. After doing a ton of research and the amount of activity we were doing I decided to make a Bachelorette Survival Kit. I took Chinese take out boxes from my parents restaurant (anything to save a buck or two) and filled them with ring pops (our gaudy jewelry), a candy necklace, Tylenol, lip gloss, gum and hand sanitizers. I think they turned out awesome!!!

For Brunch on Saturday morning we went to Feast. They were crazy busy, but the service and food was so good. Here Dhara shows how much she likes her pancakes!

After brunch we decided to do some relaxing and get our nails done. The nail salon let us bring our own drinks and snacks. They even showed Sex in the City on their TVs. A perfect way for us to relax after a big brunch. Here we all are!

Getting pampered...

Can you guess which one is my hand?

After getting our nails done we went back to the hotel to play games and open gifts. Dhara got a lot of nice gifts (wink wink!). I won't post them on here but here we are at the hotel having a fun time!

Also upon my research I found a great way for the bachelorette to make some money. Eric and I went to Hobby Lobby to search for a bouquet holder and I bought blow pops from Sam's. Dhara's tasks was to ask guys if they wanted to "suck for a buck." Dhara was a good sport about it and made some serious cash to help pay for her drinks that night!

After games and presents we got ready to go out. We had dinner reservations at Kan Zaman. The food was okay, but what made this experience awesome was this:

Yes, a belly dancer while eating your dinner! What fun! Here Dhara works her moves! Don't go eating there for good service or a lot of sense. They really charge you an arm and a leg for various reasons (don't even get me started) and the waiter wasn't the nicest. Luckily the belly dancer made it up!

After dinner we went to The Baton Show Lounge where we saw "Female Impersonators" sing some great songs like Keisha's "Tic Tok." We all had a blast. Unfortunately no cameras were allowed so no pictures here.

After the show we went to a club. Mind you I have not gone clubbing since sophomore year in college? Boy it brought back memories but I had fun dancing, especially to songs that I recognized or knew! :0)

I didn't get back to the hotel until around 4 a.m? I was so tired and apparently some people came back to the hotel and got their things and I was the only one that had no idea.

Here's Dhara holding an empty wine bottle and the coffee to wake her up!

After checking out we went to Panera for brunch and then I headed back home. It was a tiring but so very fun weekend!
