Follow Up Appointment: 16 Weeks

I should really stop reading stuff on thebump.com because it makes me nervous. I read how one lady went in for an ultrasound at 20 weeks and found out that the baby did not have a heartbeat and took it really hard.

Should I find myself in that same situation I would feel the same way. So going into the appointment I had myself all worked up for no reason because when we heard the heartbeat and I asked the doctor to confirmed it was "Pedro's" and not mine he said "yes and it sounds like a good looking baby." Whew.

However, I am worried that the doctor mentioned that I have blood in my urine at this appointment and the one previous. He asked if I had that happen before and I said not that I know of. So he said that we just need to keep a close eye on everything.

I also gained 3 pounds from my previous appointment. I'm still -1 pound from when I first started. I have also been puke free Zofran free for four days now so that's a huge success. I hope that the end is near.

I'm anxious to start feeling the baby move as well. The nurse and the doctor asked me if I have felt anything and I told them no. Maybe in a week or two. I'm excited and can't wait. I'm already ready to meet him or her.

In four weeks I will have an ultrasound to see if the sex of the baby can be determined and for another follow up appointment. We can't wait!

Tiny Little Peanut

The first thing I did after I found out I was pregnant (besides call and tell my mom) was to make an appointment to see a new OB/GYN. I was unhappy with my previous one since she was busy and said good-bye halfway down the hall. So I decided to use one that my friend Sarah currently uses.

I hear about other girlfriends rave about having men OB/GYNs but I guess I felt more comfortable with a woman. However, the new doctor, Dr. A made me feel very comfortable. When I scheduled my first appointment I had my ultrasound before seeing the doctor. When I saw the doctor he said that the baby was a little smaller than anticipated so he pushed back the due date from November 26th to December 4th.

Here are some pictures of our tiny little peanut at six 1/2 weeks that we have nicknamed "Pedro."

I am currently 14 weeks and here is a belly picture. I bought my first maternity skirt (who knew that Heidi Klum had a cute maternity line?) and a belly band. I hope to get lots of use out of my belly band!
