In my new office, I feel that I need to be more fashionable. My coworkers have a great sense of style and I am always admiring their clothes and look. Last year I really wanted a pair of riding boots. They are tall boots without a heel, but you have to have the right outfit to go with it. After hours of research I learned that there are three "right" ways of wearing riding boots: with a dress, with skinny jeans, or with a leggings. When leggings came back a few years ago, I vowed never to succumb to that trend. I still haven't but they do make riding boots look good.
So Friday night, Eric was kind enough to endure a couple hours at the mall. I got a pair of riding boots and a pair of skinny jeans. The top part is hard since you should be wearing something long and baggy. Looks like I should keep my old clothes, you never know when the style is going to come back!
Surprise, surprise! I met some of Eric's mother's side of the family yesterday. For most of them it was only the second time I have met them!
Eric received a phone call a month ago from his aunt. Eric's Uncle Rich from New Mexico is coming to St. Louis and invited us over to dinner.
So we went and learned more about his mother's side of the family. I learned a lot and tried to figure out which part of Eric's personality is from his mother's side and the Childrey's side. Eric's chill and laid-back attitude is definitely from his mother's side. However, his indecisiveness must come from the Childrey's side since when we got to dinner everything was on a schedule and organized.
I hope that we continue to see his mother's side of the family. They all seem very nice and I had fun trying to beat Eric's Wii score!

When Eric and I went on our road trip we decided we were getting maple stuff in Canada. That's what they're known for right?
We had intended to buy maple syrup of course, but were overwhelmed by the amount of types they had. While browsing we came across maple cookies. When bought two boxes, one with a vanilla creme and one with chocolate. We ate them when we got back in the US and had NO idea how delicious they were!
After consuming them we regretted not getting more and realized that we would have to wait until we went to Canada again. One day last week we took a trip to Trader Joe's...
and we found Maple Cookies! We bought two boxes, but I think we'll be buying more!
For a long time, I've been passing by Audi-K's and noticed that it was going to be a hot dog and sno cone kind of joint. It finally opened last week! Eric and I wanted to try it out over the weekend but either the timing wasn't right or it was way too late to have a hot dog.
So today, my coworker Jenny and I went there after work to try it out. I got the St. Louis dog which had bbq sauce, onions and pickles. Jenny got the Killer hot dog and the Chicago hot dog. I liked my hot dog and so did she (she only ate half of each and gave the rest to her husband).
The New Orlean's sno cone was good too. Jenny asked how it was different and the lady stated that the ice is shaved finer than the ones at Carnivals and that the machine is from New Orlean's.
I'll have to take pictures next time Eric and I go. However, it's a cute place to go if you want a snack at a reasonable price. My hot dog and small sno cone was around $5.50.
P.S. Poor international students..as we were leaving one girl pointed out that the word "sno" was missing the "w." :0)
