The Date!

We have set the date!

Our original plan was to have it May 24th. Since Eric and I are paying for most of this ourselves and we wanted to get married in late spring/early summer, Sunday was going to have to make due. Plus a lot of family friends on my side can only make it on a Sunday since they have to work on Saturdays due to family restaurants.

Sundays is cheaper anyways and we should be able to find photographers and all a lot cheaper (crossing our fingers!)

However, the Jewel Box was completely full for May 24th but had some openings on June 7th. However, Eric and I took too long to think about it and when we called for June 7th, it was booked too. Bummer since Eric and I got engaged on June 7th.

So...May 31st it is! We just called the hall and we reserved it and we will go in on Sunday to make some arrangements. We are super-excited!!!

Plus yesterday, Eric and I bought our first bed together! It won't be here until September 9th though! Bummer!!

Wedding Stuff - Lemp Mansion

On Saturday Nancy and I went to the Lemp Mansion Grand Hall to check it out for a potential reception site. I think it's really nice in a antiqueish sort of way and Patti, the lady who we'd be working with to organize everything seemed to be really helpful and nice. It really seems like she's willing to work with us to get everything how we want it, even bringing in some of our own food to go along with their catered food! Here's a few pictures we took of the place while we where there.

Wedding Stuff - Engagement Gifts!

How come no one listens when people say "no gifts". I'll never figure that out, even when I am an offender of that. Here's some pictures of the gifts we've received thus far.

Married for Life book from my Grandma. Lots of nice little stories and anecdotes about how to stay married and more importantly; how to stay happily married.

A photo album/scrap book type book to document our engagement from my Aunt Janet. Guess we'll print out our blog posts and put in there.

A planning guide kit from Gianina and Ron, to help make sure we get all our stuff together for our wedding day, should really come in handy.
